Liceo de Sámara participates in the independence day torch run.
Written By David Rosenthal
To celebrate independence day throughout Central America, a torch is lit and carried by runners through all of Central America, ending in Cartago, Costa Rica, near the capital of San Jose. A shorter run takes place in Guanacaste, Costa Rica in which students carry a torch, passing it from group all along the Pacific coast. Students from Liceo de Sámara took the torch about 20 kilometers from the campus and carried the flame through the green hills of Nicoya all the way to the coast.
